Close Up of a Black Swan

The following image is of a Black Swan (Cygnus atratus) a water bird which is native to Australia. I took this photograph on a recent visit to Jawbone Reserve. This particular Swan was used to human contact as it had no qualms about coming very close. In fact it came so close I had to step back to get the shot in focus.

The Little Pied Cormorant (Microcarbo melanoleucos) is a native of Australia waterbird. It will be found on mainland Australia and Tasmania, and Pacific Islands. It has a black upper body with white underneath, which can be up to 55 centimetres long. It has a short yellow-brown bill.

When not in the water diving for food, the Little Pied Cormorant will be seen hanging his wings out to dry.
