I have heard it said that Chrysanthemums are one of the world’s most favourite cut flowers. They are also the symbol of Mother’s Day; so what better flower could I post today.

They are beautiful flowers. My mum just got some today as well as some Lilies 🙂
Thank you, Zia. Wish your Mum Happy Mother’s Day!!
I love chrysanthemums and their fragrance. Sadly though, in Italy they are the flowers of the dead. The day when people remember their dead and visit cemetery is November 2 and at that time of the year mums used to be the best fresh flowers available. I hope that idea has changed by now.
It is a powerful flower because it has different meanings in different cultures.
From the net:
A symbol of the sun, the Japanese consider the orderly unfolding of the chrysanthemum’s petals to represent perfection… (I will not go on, but there is a lot more on the net about this great flower).
