The Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides) is more commonly known as a Crow. Its plumage is black and shiny and it has long floppy hackles on its throat which stand out when it is calling. The Australian Raven’s call has been described as “high, child-like wailing” followed by a series of “slow notes with strangled, dying finish”.
Its body size is about 55 centimetres, and the adult bird has white irises.
