Bottlebrushes

In Australia, Bottlebrushes are very popular garden plants. They will attract many nectar feeding birds to the garden.

Their popularity began soon after European settlement, and, in 1789, they were introduced to England by the botanist Joseph Banks.

Bottlebrushes, genus Callistemon,  belong to the Myrtaceae family and are closely related to the Melaleuca family. Plants in the Melaleuca family also have bottlebrush shaped flowers.
