The Maar Craters

Within the past 20,000 years, the volcanic features found in the district of Camperdown were formed. Camperdown is in the western district of Victoria, Australia.

Two maar craters found here are Lake Bullen Merri and Lake Gnotuk.

The water in Lake Bullen Merri is slightly saline, while Lake Gnotuk is twice as salty as the sea. Both lakes are very popular fishing spots.
